Frequently Asked Questions About Sports Physiotherapy

Do I need a doctor referral? Many of our clients come without a doctor referral or come before seeing a doctor/going for imaging. Though for insurance reasons one may be necessitated to see a doctor first.
Can I keep training while doing physio? Yes, absolutely! Rehab is defined as training in the presence of injury
How many sessions will I need?

Your physio will discuss this with you on the first session as it would be dictated by the extent of your injury and your rehabilitation goals

What should I wear / bring? Come in sporting attire as you may be required to perform sports related movements/drills as part of the assessment or therapies
Do you offer return-to-sport testing? Yes! We use our VALD system to give empirical objective data that is integrated with qualitative assessments to determine readiness for return to practice and return to play.
Should I see a physio even if it is just a small niggle/pain? Yes! Injuries can manifest firstly as small aches and pains, a drop off in performance, and increased fatigue before escalating into a larger or more serious injury. It is preferable to catch it early and physios are trained to do a detailed assessment of injuries and potential injuries.
