TENNIS MINI SERIES
TENNIS ABILITY REQUIREMENT
EVENT FORMAT
- Red Ball (5-7 yrs) & Orange Ball (7-8 yrs) groups
- Each age group has a Grade 1 and 2 division*
- Players will play on modified courts with soft, slower balls specifically designed for their age.
- Players will play round robin matches (5 - 7 min rounds) and will record the number of points they get for each match they play (counting 1, 2, 3 etc.).
- Players will serve for two points each – serving underarm or overhead.
- Prizes will be awarded to players with the most points, 1st, 2nd & 3rd place, and for sportsmanship
*Grade 1: For more experienced and competitive players with tournament experience. Grade 2: For players with limited or no tournament experience, or still building the ability to rally confidently.
WHAT'S NEXT AFTER THE TENNIS MINI SERIES?
Getting your child into playing matches in a fun environment from a young age makes it less daunting for them when they get to a more competitive age. As they get older, the Junior Team Tennis League (JTTL) is designed for those ready to compete with the green dot balls and regular yellow balls, but also provides a fun team environment for them to build camaraderie amongst their teammates. Players will gain lots of match experience across 6 weekends of singles & doubles match play. Players can compete in U10, U12, U14 and U17 categories.
JTTL Players are from a diverse range of nationalities – Singaporean, Chinese, American, Canadian, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French, Indian, Japanese, Korean, etc.
Players for the tournament are made up from schools’ teams (International and Local), Clubs and independent entries.
Age Categories (2023 S2)
- 10 & U (Born in 2013 or later) - Green dot ball
- 12 & U (Born in 2011 or later)
- 14 & U (Born in 2009 or later)
- 17 & U (Born in 2006 or later)
