Philip's Transformation: Strength, Confidence, and a Second Chance at 58
When Philip began personal training at UFIT Singapore with his coach Rachel, he was 20kg heavier than he wanted to be and, in his own words, not happy with the way he looked or felt.
At 58, with a demanding career as a lawyer and a job that kept him constantly travelling, Philip had the motivation to change. What he needed was a plan that could survive real life.
Then came the wake-up call. An annual medical check-up revealed he needed two stents. "I decided that actually it was time to take this even more seriously," Philip says.
A Programme Built Around a Busy Life
Philip's biggest obstacle wasn't motivation, it was logistics. So his UFIT coach Rachel built a programme around the way he actually lives.
When he's in Singapore, Philip trains with Rachel at least three times a week. When he's overseas, Rachel writes a tailored programme into the UFIT app so he can train independently from any hotel gym in the world.
"He gives 200% every single session," Rachel says, "and I know for sure he's giving 200% when he's overseas too."
Sustainable Results
Philip came to UFIT as a complete beginner, with no strength training background at all. Twelve months on, the numbers speak for themselves:
For a 58-year-old new to the gym, these are remarkable achievements and exactly the kind of strength work that protects long-term health.
A Habit That Sticks
Ask Philip what changed, and the stats aren't the first thing he mentions.
"I feel more confident. I feel stronger," he says. "The new me is going to stay this way. I'm not going back to what it was." He also credits something often left out of transformation stories: enjoyment. "If you weren't enjoying rocking up and having Rachel laugh at you, it wasn't going to work. I've got to the point where I'd miss it if I wasn't doing it."
Philip's story is a reminder that it's never too late to start and that the right personal trainer in Singapore can build a plan that fits even the busiest life.
