Michelle (@Michelle.VLim) is a professional dancer, choreographer, and Personal Trainer. She began training as a dancer at the young age of 3, alongside competing in other sports like tennis and track before formalizing her dance training at School of the Arts Singapore, and later, as the first Singaporean at The Juilliard School in New York City. She has then gone on to coach performers ranging from contemporary dancers to musical theater artists, holding masterclasses across the USA and Canada.
Michelle has always been drawn towards the technical and physiological complexities of dance. Immersing herself in various conditioning methods such as the Franklin Method and gyrokinesis, Michelle actively incorporates it into her work as a choreographer, trainer, dance captain and movement director. After training under the tuitilage of Alexandra Wells, Michelle is also currently the only IMAGE TECH for Dancers™ teacher in Asia; a weight-bearing, somatic technique consisting of standing exercises that increase awareness, alignment, and stability while preparing dancers for vertical dance techniques.
With her background in dance, she believes in the importance of finding balance between mobility, power and strength, plus you bet on a killer playlist to find its way into her group classes. Outside of the gym, Michelle's still trying to figure out how to do this thing called "Latte Art" and overcoming her fear of pennyboarding.
