For a sustainable approach to Body Transformation believe in The Power of Community

It’s that time of year in January when we all set ourselves those goals and then by March they are all but slung by the wayside and we are back to where we started. In the Health and Fitness industry, January is our busiest month for that very reason, our clients arrive full of hope and ambition and it’s our job to keep them on that road. So how do we do it?

While it’s tempting to ‘buy off the shelf’ with the promise of transforming from A to B in a set period of weeks, this one size fits all, just cannot work for everybody. Everybody has different goals and everybody’s health journey is unique. It’s no secret that UFIT believes in the power of community, but that community does not always have to be a huge network, it’s anybody who has an influence in your life and can provide you with the support you need to achieve your goals.

Here, Leigh Withers, Manager of UFIT Amoy Street gives us his top tips for finding your own personal approach and sticking with your individual goals...

  1. Never underestimate the “Power of 1 to 5”. This is the importance of your social support; the 5 people you spend the most time with, are the people who will have an effect on your success. Surround yourself with positivity and encouragement. If they believe in you and are constantly telling you that you can do it, then you will start to believe it yourself

  2. Find your Why? Be honest with yourself and work out the real reason for making the changes and sustainably transforming your body for life. We don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach to body transformation. As your Trainer and part of your community, we work together with you to uncover your goals, your lifestyle, dietary habits, body type and motivations. Once we know this, then together we can shape your purpose, which in turn will provide the framework to sculpt your body and mind into where YOU want them to be

  3. Train with a friend, partner, colleague, double up. This not only makes it more fun but gives you a sense of responsibility to somebody, you won’t want to let them down. Together you work as a pair, when one doesn’t feel motivated the other will push you through. It’s a partnership and that matters when it gets tough.
