Aaron (@aaronathletic) is a Strength and Conditioning Coach / Personal Trainer who has been actively involved in sports such as rugby, swimming and cricket from a young age. Wanting to pursue a career in the sports and fitness industry, he completed his degree in BSc Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Science. This in turn led him to work as a S&C coach with rugby teams around London such as the London Scottish Academy, Rosslyn Park, Esher and professional rugby team Harlequins who play in the English premiership. Aaron also provided S&C support to various motor racing drivers, most notably in Formula 2, Formula E & Blanc Pain GT.
Aaron specialises in performance oriented goals, helping people return to exercise and sport through developing strength, cardiovascular, mobility and body composition qualities. His coaching philosophy is developed around balancing out and strengthening the body, this allows for proper body movement and minimises at risk areas when undergoing the stress of activity. He believes in building strength from the ground up, working through all different ranges of motion, training at different velocities, carefully selected exercises and individualised training programs. Aaron understands that alongside these there are other pillars of health and fitness which are crucial when making long lasting changes, this includes skill development, stress, nutrition and social support.
Outside of the gym, Aaron currently is currently the Singapore Rugby Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach for the Men and Women teams. Previously he acted as the Head S&C coach for the Women side, taking them to the 2019 Olympic Qualifiers in China and The 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.
Aaron also specializes in youth development training where he started the youth academy classes at UFIT Orchard. He takes on a handful of talented young sports men and women throughout Singapore in various disciplines. Aaron has helped a number of young boys prepare for enlistment to National Service.
He also has a few other hobbies including Wakeboarding, Running and Gymnastics where he is currently working on his handstands. He could also teach you a thing or two about juggling, which is what he is currently working on, and we’ve been told he’s up to 5 balls now.
