Darren Blakeley

Darren founded the UFIT boot camps in 2008. He is a FISAF-certified Personal Trainer and holder of an MSc in Exercise and Nutrition from the University of Liverpool (UK). Having worked with various sports teams, including the Singapore National Rugby Team, and having written a thesis on the demands of rugby fitness, Darren offers specialist knowledge in the design of sports-fitness programmes. Darren is also a huge champion of functional training, which he practices avidly with his clients at our studio.

 

James Forrester

James is an ex-England international rugby player; he was in the starting line-up for Gloucester RFC for his entire career. Having played at such a high level of sport and being an elite athlete for over 10 years, he brings a huge amount of knowledge about the practical application of nutrition and fitness to the team. Following his retirement from professional sport, James qualified in both nutrition and personal training.

He is now bringing these additional skills to UFIT clients, as well as in his roles as the Wanderer’s RFC head coach and defence coach for the Singapore National Rugby Team.

 

Dean Ahmad

Dean is an accomplished Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise/Rehabilitation Specialist. Having worked in a clinic specialising in rehabilitation and trigger point therapy, he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the field of sport injury and rehabilitation. Dean is a firm believer in treating injuries with a holistic approach. He is skilled at helping post-rehabilitation clients get back to fitness in a safe and encouraging way.

 

Nathan Williams

Nathan has been in and around the coaching and fitness industry since 2003. His passion for health and fitness and love for traveling have meant that he has acquired a unique set of skills that fit around every type of client.

Nathan has a Bsc honours degree in Sports Development and Coaching from UWIC, Cardiff. At the prestigious sporting university he began coaching top level young athletes such as England women rugby internationals as well as national level hockey and soccer players. Since qualifying as a PT in 2006 Nathan has traveled and worked in the UK, Cyprus, North America, Dubai, Bahrain and most recently Singapore. Nathan’s training sessions are focused on eliminating weaknesses to create strength, a philosophy that has continually helped him transform steady gym goers to serious athletes.
 

Stephen Greenan

Stephen is our Physiotherapist (BSc. Hons) specialising in exercise and work related injuries. In addition he holds a MSc. in Sport and Exercise Medicine from Trinity College Dublin. Stephen is also an accomplished Pilates teacher (Mat & Studio) and Strength and Conditioning coach having taught and mentored in renowned clinics for several years.

As UFITs running coach, he teaches elements from POSE running, Chi running and the Alexander technique. Having a wide skill set allows Stephen to integrate manual therapy techniques with movement therapy to offer a bespoke rehabilitation plan for you to return to full fitness and function in the safest, fastest possible time. He believes in educating and empowering his clients to take control of their health and well being in a creative and fun environment.

 

Cheryl Lin

Cheryl first joined the fitness industry in 1998 and her experiences range from group fitness, sales and management, fitness Yoga and Pilates, professional dance, nutrition, corporate wellness, and of course personal training. Educated in Physiology, Sports Psychology and Dance, Cheryl’s training interests include Kinesiology, Nutrition, work-related stress injuries and Pilates.

Cheryl has worked and taught for a number of successful gyms including Les Mills New Zealand, and is also a certified member of the Fitness Pilates and Yoga Association of Australasia. She has worked extensively with athletes from the New Zealand White Ferns, Waikato Development Tennis, Northern Districts Cricket, Waikato Magic Netball, V8 Supercars Ford and the Singapore Paddle Club (including exercise prescription for the now defunct ICL Lahore Badshahs) in injury rehabilitation, speed and agility, nutrition and sports-specific conditioning.

 

Maria Hussain

Maria has more than 10 years of experience working as a deep tissue body worker. She studied in London and has treated people from all walks of life, from athletes, performing artists , expecting mothers and the everyday man and woman.

She is fascinated by how the body as a whole functions and adapts to postural (mis) alignments, habits and discrepancies . Her work involves using fascial manipulations which can be used to lengthen, stretch and re-align the tissue . She enjoys the rehabilitation and remedial aspect of massage as well as sharing knowledge about body awareness and posture.

Maria is also a keen swimmer and a teacher of the Shaw Method using the principles of the Alexander technique in swimming.

 

Ahmad Husaini

Husaini Ahmad or “H” is a certified NASM personal trainer and TRX functional trainer. H was a member of the Singapore national track and field team and also competed in several natural bodybuilding competitions in his junior years. After having the fortune to train under the guidance of various sports coaches in Asia, he found his inner drive and passion to train and educate others in the field of exercise and health.

Though a man of few words H has deep insights and intuition in training and nutrition. Currently also pursuing a bachelor degree in psychology studies, H might seem laid back and down to earth in person but when training he does not joke around and takes it very seriously. His clients enjoy the commitment H brings to his work and he is well liked by his colleagues and clients alike.

 

Stanley Sim

Stanley is a world Muay Thai Council (WMC) certified instructor. With four local championship titles to his name, Stan brings with him years of experience in training and coaching the art of Muay Thai.

Stan also has a Bachelor’s degree in sports an exercise science. Building around the concept of functional training, Stan adds variety to the art of Muay Thai training, giving it a well balanced workout. He targets the training specifically to individual’s needs, whether you’re doing it for recreation or as a seasoned fighter.
 

Dan Hammond

Dan joined us in 2012 after a long stint in professional football. Back in his native the UK he played for Cambridge United for 9 years and his accolades include being an England Youth International. He has lived in Singapore for over 5 years now playing full time professional football in the S League.

Off the field Dan is a qualified level 2 football and sports coach specialising in working with both adults and children. Back in the UK he ran a Sports Development Academy for 4 years along side persuing a career in physical fitness.

Dan is passionate about fitness for Children. He believes in making sports and fitness integral to youngsters health, well being and social skills. Dan is fully qualified to work with children including those with learning and physical disabilities.

Dan is particularly passionate about agility training and all areas of sports related fitness. He draws on his long career as a professional athlete in helping people through training and development to reach their optimum health and fitness goals, whether it be aiding their performance in a chosen sport or for their general own well being.

Dan is definitely a big personality for the UFIT team and couples his work outs with high enthusiasm and energy.

 

Holly Klimcke

After a number of years working in the events industry, Holly decided to follow her love of health and fitness. She holds a BSc in Anthropology and qualified as a Personal Trainer at the prestigious Premier International Group in London.  As well as being approachable, client focussed and always positive, Holly has qualifications and experience in a variety of niche training techniques from kettlebells & boxing to injury rehab and weight loss. This enables her to offer a varied, personal and of course fun programme in order to help clients achieve their goals   Outside of the gym, Holly is a keen sportswoman who has been involved in competitive hockey at a high level for 20yrs.  She is passionate about resistance and functional training both in her own training and with clients!  

 

Lucas Renzi

With a practical and holistic approach to training, Lucas brings over a decade of experience and progressive development for sports people.

Goal oriented and contemporary, Lucas has trained with the Australian Olympic Judo team since 2000. His functional conditioning style maximises your fitness so you can maximise your ability to practice your chosen sport more proficiently. The newest addition to UFIT’s MMA team, his qualifications are extensive and range from sprint coach, lead climber licencee (rock-climbing), internationally recognised FISAF personal trainer accreditation, Senior First Aid officer and Judo 1st kyu.
